Note for teachers: This notice helps students understand their rights. Our official notice, our General Privacy Notice, provides more info. (Ask your teacher if you want to see a copy of this document.) This kid-friendly notice is targeted at the elementary reading level.

- You will make mistakes.
- It's okay to make mistakes.
- It is okay to say: "I don't want others to know I'm online."
- Understanding This Notice: Some words have special meanings in this notice. When a word has a special meaning, we put the word in " " to tell you the special meaning.
- Who Is a Teacher? A “Teacher” is the adult who assigned you the Boom Cards.
- Who Is a Parent? A “Parent,” is your parent or legal guardian.
- What We Tell Your Teacher: When you play Boom Cards, we tell your Teacher how you did and how long it took.
- What We Know About You: You can see the full list of what we know about you. (Ask your teacher if you want to see a copy of this document.) In addition to knowing how you did on Boom Cards, we also know
- your nickname,
- your avatar,
- when you logged in last, and
- your browser and IP address.
- Who We Share With: We share what we know about you with
- you,
- your teachers and specialists,
- your school or people who help you,
- companies we choose to help us do what we do (ask your teacher if you want to see a copy of this document),
- and, sometimes, your nickname with your classmates.
- How We Use What We Know
- Protect Boom Learning from break-ins.
- Protect Boom Learning and its users from mischief.
- Make Boom Cards better.
- Suggest Boom Cards to your Teacher that you might like.
- Ask Your Teacher for Help
- Tell your teacher how you learn best.
- Ask your Teacher for help if you have trouble using Boom Cards.
- Your Parent should also ask your Teacher for help.
- Ways Your Teacher Can Change What We Know About You: Ask your Teacher for help if you
- Don't want us to know about you.
- Want to see what we know about you.
- Want us to delete what we know about you.
- Need to fix info that is wrong.
- Stay Safe
- Listen to your Teachers and follow their rules.
- Use the sign-in method your Teacher tells you to use and only that one.
- Never give your password to anyone who is not your Teacher or your parent.
- Never use anyone else's Boom Cards account.
- When We Know What We Know About You
- You can ask your Teacher gives you a code to use to play that does not keep a record of how you did.*
- All other ways of playing Boom Cards keep a record of how you did.
- Classroom Rosters: Your Teacher's Boom Cards classroom has a list called a roster that shows your nickname to the whole class. You can ask your Teacher to hide the roster to keep your nickname private.
- How Your Parents Can Know How You Did
- Parents can look at your dashboard.
- Parents can also become a Teacher on Boom.
- A Word About Ads
- We don't use what we know about you to show you ads.
- We don't sell what we know about you to other people.
- A Word About Videos
- Some Boom Cards may contain videos from other companies.
- We try to make it so those videos do not show you ads.
- Tell your Teacher to tell us if they see an ad so we can fix it.
- You can always skip watching a video.
- Where We Keep Your Info
- Your info is stored in the United States.
- We use secret codes to protect your info.
- When We Delete Your Info
- We delete your info when your Teacher tells us to.
- We delete your info when your Teacher stops using Boom Cards.
- We may delete your info if you stop using us for a long time.
- What If Someone Takes My Info: If someone takes your info without permission and we learn about it, we will tell your Teacher.
*Modified July 31, 2026 - we are introducing an option for teachers to save results from code plays. There will be a warning to students on play if the code saves results. This change is effective on release of the new feature.
